This Sunday was day three of the Second Division League in Rwandan football, and clubs from Eastern Province had good results, except for Kirehe FC, who were shocked at home by Impesa FC.
Etoile de l’Est, Ngoma-based team, beat Alpha FC 2-0, in a game attended by crowds from Ngoma District who have a strong wish of being promoted to the Rwanda Premier League.
Following the home win, Etoile de l’Est’s head coach, Rachid Bakundakabo, hailed his players for doing what he had just told them before the game, and promised the fans that the team will work hard to reach the top flight of Rwandan football next season.
“The fans should stay hopeful, this is just the beginning of the season, but we will do our best for our club to be promoted to the top division like we have always promised them,” he declared, also asking for their continuous support.
The head coach of the guest team, Amran Hatungimana, said the defeat is not the end for them, since there are still more games to play this season. He hopes they will bounce back soon.
Meanwhile, Rwamagana FC beat Nyagatare FC 3-0, while Impesa FC beat Kirehe FC 3-2.
